והוה בתר פתגמיא האלין כרמא הוה לנבות יזרעאלה די ביזרעאל בסטר היכלא דאחאב מלכא דשמרון:
dshmrwn mlka dakhab hykla bsTr byzreal dy yzrealh lnbwth hwh krma halyn pthgmya bthr whwh
After these things, Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard which was in Jezreel, next to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

ומלל אחאב עם נבות למימר הב לי ית כרמך ויהי לי לגנת ירקא ארי הוא קריב לביתי ואתן לך חלופיה כרמא דטב מיניה אם תקין בעינך אתן לך כספא דמוהי מה דשוי:
dshwy mh dmwhy kspa lk athn beynk thqyn am mynyh dTb krma khlwpyh lk wathn lbythy qryb hwa ary yrqa lgnth ly wyhy krmk yth ly hb lmymr nbwth em akhab wmll
Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, “Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near my house; and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”

ואמר נבות לאחאב חס לי מן קדם יי מלמתן ית אחסנת אבהתי לך:
lk abhthy akhsnth yth mlmthn yy qdm mn ly khs lakhab nbwth wamr
Naboth said to Ahab, “May Yahweh forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!”

ואתא אחאב לביתיה נסיס ודוי על פתגמא דמליל עמיה נבות יזרעאלה ואמר לא אתן לך ית אחסנת אבהתי ושכיב על ערסיה ואסחר ית אפוהי ולא אכל לחמא:
lkhma akl wla apwhy yth waskhr ersyh el wshkyb abhthy akhsnth yth lk athn la wamr yzrealh nbwth emyh dmlyl pthgma el wdwy nsys lbythyh akhab watha
Ahab came into his house sullen and angry because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him, for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He laid himself down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

ואתת לותיה איזבל אתתיה ומלילת עמיה מה דין רוחך סטיא ולית את אכיל לחמא:
lkhma akyl ath wlyth sTya rwkhk dyn mh emyh wmlylth aththyh ayzbl lwthyh wathth
But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, “Why is your spirit so sad that you eat no bread?”

ומליל עמה ארי מללית עם נבות יזרעאלה ואמרית ליה הב לי ית כרמך בכספא או אם רעי את אתן לך כרמא חלופוהי ואמר לא אתן לך ית כרמי:
krmy yth lk athn la wamr khlwpwhy krma lk athn ath rey am aw bkspa krmk yth ly hb lyh wamryth yzrealh nbwth em mllyth ary emh wmlyl
He said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ He answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’”

ואמרת ליה איזבל אתתיה את כען תצלח מלכותך על ישראל קום אכול לחמא וישפר לבך אנא אתן לך ית כרמא דנבות יזרעאלה:
yzrealh dnbwth krma yth lk athn ana lbk wyshpr lkhma akwl qwm yshral el mlkwthk thtslkh ken ath aththyh ayzbl lyh wamrth
Jezebel his wife said to him, “Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”

וכתבת אגרתא בשמא דאחאב וחתמת בעזקתיה ושדרת אגרן לסביא ולתורביני דבקרתא דיתבין עם נבות:
nbwth em dythbyn dbqrtha wlthwrbyny lsbya agrn wshdrth bezqthyh wkhthmth dakhab bshma agrtha wkthbth
So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and to the nobles who were in his city, who lived with Naboth.

וכתבת באגרתא למימר גזרו צומא ואותיבו ית נבות בריש עמא:
ema brysh nbwth yth wawthybw tswma gzrw lmymr bagrtha wkthbth
She wrote in the letters, saying, “Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.

ואותיבו תרין גברין בני רשעא לקבליה ויסהדוניה למימר גדיפתא קדם יי ומלכא לטתא ואפקוהי ורגמוהי ויתקטל:
wythqTl wrgmwhy wapqwhy lTtha wmlka yy qdm gdyptha lmymr wyshdwnyh lqblyh rshea bny gbryn thryn wawthybw
Set two men, wicked fellows, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, ‘You cursed God and the king!’ Then carry him out, and stone him to death.”

ועבדו אנשי קרתיה סביא ותורביני דיתבין בקרתיה כמא דשלחת לותהון איזבל כמא דכתבת באגרתא דשלחת להון:
lhwn dshlkhth bagrtha dkthbth kma ayzbl lwthhwn dshlkhth kma bqrthyh dythbyn wthwrbyny sbya qrthyh anshy webdw
The men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had instructed them in the letters which she had written and sent to them.

גזרו צומא ואותיבו ית נבות בריש עמא:
ema brysh nbwth yth wawthybw tswma gzrw
They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.

ואתו תרין גברין בני רשעא ויתיבו לקבליה ואסהידו גברי רשעא ית נבות קדם עמא למימר גדיף נבות קדם יי ומלכא לט ואפקוהי מברא לקרתא ורגמוהי באבניא ומית:
wmyth babnya wrgmwhy lqrtha mbra wapqwhy lT wmlka yy qdm nbwth gdyp lmymr ema qdm nbwth yth rshea gbry washydw lqblyh wythybw rshea bny gbryn thryn wathw
The two men, the wicked fellows, came in and sat before him. The wicked fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city and stoned him to death with stones.

ושלחו לות איזבל למימר אתרגים נבות ומית:
wmyth nbwth athrgym lmymr ayzbl lwth wshlkhw
Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, “Naboth has been stoned and is dead.”

והוה כד שמעת איזבל ארי אתרגים נבות ומית ואמרת איזבל לאחאב קום אחסין ית כרמא דנבות יזרעאלה דלא אבא למתן לך בכספא ארי לית נבות קים אלהין מית:

When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab, “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.”

והוה כד שמע אחאב ארי מית נבות וקם אחאב למיחת לכרמא דנבות יזרעאלה למירתיה:
lmyrthyh yzrealh dnbwth lkrma lmykhth akhab wqm nbwth myth ary akhab shme kd whwh
When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עם אליהו דמן תושב למימר:
lmymr thwshb dmn alyhw em yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

קום חות לקדמות אחאב מלכא דישראל די בשמרון הא הוא בכרמא דנבות דנחת תמן למירתיה:
lmyrthyh thmn dnkhth dnbwth bkrma hwa ha bshmrwn dy dyshral mlka akhab lqdmwth khwth qwm
“Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwells in Samaria. Behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.

ותמליל עמיה למימר כדנן אמר יי הקטלתא ואף אחסנתא ותמליל עמיה למימר כדנן אמר יי באתרא דלחיכו כלביא ית דמא דנבות ילחכון כלביא ית דמך אף דילך:
dylk ap dmk yth klbya ylkhkwn dnbwth dma yth klbya dlkhykw bathra yy amr kdnn lmymr emyh wthmlyl akhsntha wap hqTltha yy amr kdnn lmymr emyh wthmlyl
You shall speak to him, saying, ‘Yahweh says, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ You shall speak to him, saying, ‘Yahweh says, “In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs will lick your blood, even yours.”’”

ואמר אחאב לאליהו האשכחתא לי בעיל דבבי ואמר אשכחית חלף דחשבתא למעבד דביש קדם יי:
yy qdm dbysh lmebd dkhshbtha khlp ashkkhyth wamr dbby beyl ly hashkkhtha lalyhw akhab wamr
Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in Yahweh’s sight.

הא אנא מיתי עלך בישתא ואפלי בתרך ואשיצי לאחאב ידע מדע ואחיד ושביק בישראל:
byshral wshbyq wakhyd mde yde lakhab washytsy bthrk waply byshtha elk mythy ana ha
Behold, I will bring evil on you, and will utterly sweep you away and will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, and him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

ואתן ית ביתך כבית ירבעם בר נבט וכבית בעשא בר אחיה על ארגזותא דארגיזתא וחייבתא ית ישראל:
yshral yth wkhyybtha dargyztha argzwtha el akhyh br besha wkbyth nbT br yrbem kbyth bythk yth wathn
I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation with which you have provoked me to anger, and have made Israel to sin.”

ואף על איזבל גזר יי למימר כלביא ייכלון ית איזבל באחסנת יזרעאל:
yzreal bakhsnth ayzbl yth yyklwn klbya lmymr yy gzr ayzbl el wap
Yahweh also spoke of Jezebel, saying, “The dogs will eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.

דימות לאחאב בקרתא ייכלון כלביא ודימות ליה בחקלא ייכלון עופא דשמיא:
dshmya ewpa yyklwn bkhqla lyh wdymwth klbya yyklwn bqrtha lakhab dymwth
The dogs will eat he who dies of Ahab in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat he who dies in the field.”

לחוד לא הוה כאחאב דחשיב למעבד דביש קדם יי דאטעיאת יתיה איזבל אתתיה:
aththyh ayzbl ythyh daTeyath yy qdm dbysh lmebd dkhshyb kakhab hwh la lkhwd
But there was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

וארשע לחדא למהך בתר טעותא ככל דעבדו אמוראה דתריך יי מן קדם בני ישראל:
yshral bny qdm mn yy dthryk amwrah debdw kkl Tewtha bthr lmhk lkhda warshe
He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

והוה כד שמע אחאב ית פתגמיא האלין ובזע ית לבושוהי ואסר סקא על בסריה וצם ושכיב בסקא והליך יחיף:
ykhyp whlyk bsqa wshkyb wtsm bsryh el sqa wasr lbwshwhy yth wbze halyn pthgmya yth akhab shme kd whwh
When Ahab heard those words, he tore his clothes, put sackcloth on his body, fasted, lay in sackcloth, and went about despondently.

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עם אליהו דמן תושב למימר:
lmymr thwshb dmn alyhw em yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

החזיתא ארי אתכנע אחאב מן קדמי חלף דאתכנע מן קדמי לא איתי בישתא ביומוהי ביומי בריה איתי בישתא על ביתיה:
bythyh el byshtha aythy bryh bywmy bywmwhy byshtha aythy la qdmy mn dathkne khlp qdmy mn akhab athkne ary hkhzytha
“See how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but I will bring the evil on his house in his son’s day.”
